Congrats to this heritage railway on running such a successful day.
There was plenty of action, and all the staff involved were super caring, smiley, and helpful.
The victorian buffet was well staffed.
The pasty and coffee we had while watching all the activity on the platform was delicious.
This was a great start to the New Year.
Thank you to each of the volunteer team.

We took two off our grandchildren. They really loved it, with lots of goodies to eat and drink. They saw santa who gave them both a loverly prezzy each. Would certainly recommend going

The station is not that easy to find, so look out for the brown sign at the turnoff and be prepared for a rather long drive over a bumpy track to the carpark. Once there it is still not a short walk to the station building.
Riding the Battlefield Line is rather like journeying through a large scrap yard - you see lots of stock but all in need of restoration. It gave me the feeling that they simply had more than they could handle. Oh, for more volunteers.
On the other hand the station buildings and infrastructure are well kept and attractive, particularly Shackerstone, which has a delightful Victorian tearoom and a small museum packed with artifacts, and a very knowledgeable custodian.
I visited in late October when there was only one train running - a 2 car DMU. The sensible timetable allowed for the return journey over the whole line to be completed in an hour.

Fantastic historic railway, lovely staff and a no nonsense approach to things. Seems to be run by railwaymen and for enthusiasts as well as the general public. Nothing was too much hassle.

Fantastic day out with the wife . Steam train was lovely. Volunteers were brilliant, the Victorian cafe was lovely. Lovely walk around Bosworth battlefield thrown in while waiting for the next steam train. All in all a lovely experience. Too good to miss. Everyone should visit at least once in a lifetime.

A very small heritage line but what it lacks in length it makes up for in charm! One of my favourite stations in the UK. A beautiful tea rooms with absolutely brilliant food and drinks. Two shops - the main one and a “jumble sale” in a carriage on the sidings. A glorious large waiting room that is a sight to behold. Absolutely magical place.
